WHO ARE WE?

KEN TAYLOR:

Ken is a retired Captain in the Royal Navy with a penchant for cabinet making. Over many years he has refined his cabinet making skills converting antique pieces into high-end objects of desire. He is our 'Master Craftsman.'

He, like Robin, is a piscomaniac - a fanatical fisherman; whilst Robin is the Master river fisherman, Ken is Robin's stillwater trout fly-fishing instructor!

ROBIN BARLOW:

Robin has been in the antiques business for over 45 years, formerly as an auctioneer but more latterly as a fine art consultant and advisor. With his well trained eye for quality, he finds the boxes for Ken to transform.

He is also a piscomaniac (see Ken) and claims over 65 years of activity on rivers and lochs.

What We Do

In order to produce our specialist boxes and humidors, we seek to source original material of the highest quality. The writing slopes, usually 19th Century in origin, are beautifully crafted examples of the cabinet-maker’s art – robust, portable and well-proportioned. They are refitted with the same attention to detail and quality.

The hide cartridge magazines are similarly re-purposed for use by the travelling sportsman and bon viveur.

With age comes the patina of use – these objects are not brand new but have been used and loved by past generations – sometimes it shows; there may be minor imperfections but these will be part of the history and, we hope, part of the enjoyment of each unique item.
